Site Development Plan for a new Hospice facility including an administration building and residence hall located in Norwich, CT. Services included wetland mapping, stormwater treatment, utilities, parking with both subdivision and site permitting approvals.
Stormwater management system for enabling project to allow construction involving four buildings to include an infiltration of stormwater for both proposed and existing roof and paved areas on campus.

Bridge Projects
Replacement of the Main Street Bridge in East Hampton with a new 24’ span precast bridge. Design incorporated considerations regarding the appearance of the bridge and its consistency with the existing streetscape in downtown East Hampton. Project included hazardous materials considerations as well as roadway, sidewalk, and drainage improvements. Project completion anticipated in 2008.
Structural design of a 58’ span reproduction covered bridge leading to a subdivision. Project included structural design, roadway design, and approvals from local wetlands board. Construction completion anticipated in 2009.
Rehabilitation of an existing 24’ span bridge that connects Mystic Harbor to Long Island Sound. The bridge rehabilitation consisted of structural repairs to the concrete bridge deck, replacement of the existing fishing platforms, improvements to the guard rail system, and repairs at the existing bridge abutments. Construction completed in 2007.
Construction documents for a new twin span precast concrete bridge with adjacent 24’ and 20’ spans over Latimer Brook. Project included garnering Army Corps of Engineers permitting and local wetlands approvals. Project completed in 2003.
GPS/GIS Projects
Prepared an object database for the municipal sanitary sewer system servicing the City of Norwich. This service area was comprised of 110 miles of gravity sewer, 20 miles of pressure force main and 27 sewer pump stations. The database was developed using collected information and record research and utilized for the hydraulic analysis of the sewer system.
Provided an as-built topographic survey and an object database for use in developing the Campus Master Utility Plan. The mapped area was comprised of 120 acres of developed campus and included conduit, mains and services accommodating 50 buildings. Individual databases were prepared for stormwater, sanitary sewer, fire protection, domestic water, gas, steam, high voltage & low voltage electric, and telecommunications systems. Collected data was utilized to analyze system components which comprise the stormwater, sewer, and fire protection/domestic water systems.
Water & Sewer Projects
Survey, design and construction administration of the City of Norwich $10 million Combined Sewer overflow Elimination Projects. This project included 12 separate bid contacts throughout the city that included a combination of sanitary sewer and storm drainage.
Survey, design and construction administration of the Town of Montville $3.5 million water system expansion projects. This project included 4 separate bid contracts that included 13,000 linear feet of water main on Route 32, a booster pump station and a 400,000 gallon standpipe.
Survey, design and construction administration of the Town of Killingly $3.5 million North main Street Sanitary sewer expansion projects. This project included 3 separate bid contracts that included 16,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer installation and 8000 linear feet of sidewalk on Route 12 and Westcott Road.
Wetlands/Soils Projects
CLA delineated, performed functional assessment, and designed wetland restoration for the Town of Waterford DPW facility. CLA is providing ongoing monitoring and reporting for the mitigation site over a five-year period.
CLA delineated and performed functional analysis of wetlands on a 25+-acre site in Westbrook CT for expansion of the Middle School and High School campus. The delineation included state and federal boundaries through both natural and altered wetlands. The site required Local, State and Federal (ACOE) permits as well as wetland creation and mitigation design.
